FICARQ 4th Edition

We are celebrating the latest edition of the Official International Film & Architecture Festival in Spain: FICARQ 2016!
This is our 4th edition and this year it will be featured in the most important and symbolic places in Santander (Cantabria), between the 28th of June and the 2nd of July 2016.
The Official Grand Festival opening will consist of two award selections: The Official Selection of the Competition and the Official Informative Selection. The audiovisual themes that you wish to present will be openly free, as well as the technique evolved but never undermining that our signature characteristic is that we give special importance to the relationship between motion picture and architecture that is why the pieces should always have this principal.
The Official Selection of this Festival will be united by these categories: “Arte en el Séptimo Arte” in which we will be searching for fiction films and “Arquitecturas Filmadas”, dedicated to documentary. In both cases it will be specially taken into consideration, although not exclusively, those films that embrace the subject of “Cities of the Future”, understood as the dilemma between the development of the urban area and the way of inhabiting them in the years to come.
FICARQ is maturing and with this quality comes a unique character. Because of this, while the Documentary Selection will chose those pieces that embrace the architectural theme, the interest for interior design or scenography; our Fiction Film Selection will not only take into account the above but will include the novelty of highlighting those films that have an exceptional artistic direction or production design.
All films have to be post produced 1st of January 2015.
The Official Awards will be:
ARTE EN EL SÉPTIMO ARTE:
- BEST FICTION MOTION PICTURE (1.500 EUR plus award trophy)
- BEST ART DIRECTOR (1.000 EUR plus trophy)
ARQUITECTURAS FILMADAS:
- BEST DOCUMENTARY (1.500 EUR plus trophy)
If your work does not quite meet our competition requirements maybe it could be presented in our Informative Selection where we will create a more open space but having always in mind that architecture has to be the main theme.
