REQUIREMENTS OF THE FESTIVAL

The official competitive sections are ART IN THE SEVENTH ART (fiction films) and ARCHITECTURES FILMED (documentaries).
In the case of the Official Fiction Section («Art in the Seventh Art»), the Selection Committee looks for works in which architecture is present, either as a dialogue between the city, the space and the audiovisual narrative or by reason for outstanding work in artistic direction or production design.
On the other hand, in the Section dedicated to the Documentary genre («Filmed Architectures») will be selected those works that address a topic related to architecture, interior design and / or set design.
Only works completed after January 1, 2017 can compete.
The works will be presented in the original version with subtitles in Spanish or English.
In the Official Fiction Section («Art in the Seventh Art») only feature films (more than 50 minutes) will be accepted. In the Official Documentary Section («Filmed Architectures») non-fiction works of any duration may be submitted.
All persons, over 18 years of age, of any nationality, can participate, individually or collectively, by sending their audiovisual creations through the Festhome platform.

PRODUCCIONES DIMELO A MI, founded in 2007, is a pioneering film and television production company in the Spanish film industry, as the creator and organizer of the first Film and Architecture Festival (FICARQ) held in Spain. FICARQ is an international festival that has five editions to its credit. It has had itinerant character (Aviles, Oviedo and Santander). The official competitive sections of FICARQ are ART IN THE SEVENTH ART (fiction films) and ARCHITECTURES FILMED (documentaries).

PRIZES AND RATINGS

  • The Jury will grant the following PRIZES:

    • BEST DIRECTOR OF ART: FIGURINE
    • BEST PHOTOGRAPHY: FIGURINE
    • FILMED ARCHITECTURE CATEGORY:
      • 1ST PRIZE: FIGURINE
      • 2ND PRIZE: FIGURINE
      • 3RD PRIZE: FIGURINE

     

    The jury may grant special mentions.

    A jury composed of press and media professionals will award the CRITICAL PRIZE.

BASES

  1. FICARQ 2018 -VI International Film and Architecture Festival- will be held between November 20 and November 24, 2018 in Madrid.
  2. FICARQ is the only international festival of cinema and architecture in Spain, first of the Iberian Peninsula, in which audiovisual works are projected in which architecture plays a leading role.
  3. The official competitive sections are ART IN THE SEVENTH ART (fiction films) and ARCHITECTURES FILMED (documentaries).
  4. In the case of the Official Fiction Section («Art in the Seventh Art»), the Selection Committee looks for works in which architecture is present, either as a dialogue between the city, the space and the audiovisual narrative or by reason for outstanding work in artistic direction or production design.
  5. On the other hand, in the Section dedicated to the Documentary genre («Filmed Architectures») will be selected those works that address a topic related to architecture, interior design and / or set design.
  6. The deadline for the reception of audiovisual works ends on October 25, 2018.
  7. Only works completed after January 1, 2017 can compete.
  8. The works with date before January 1, 2017 may be selected for exhibition in FICARQ 2018 out of competition, forming part of the Information Section.
  9. In the Official Fiction Section («Art in the Seventh Art») only feature films (more than 50 minutes) will be accepted. In the Official Documentary Section («Filmed Architectures») non-fiction works of any duration may be submitted.
  10. In the two competitive sections works of any genre, style or technique will be accepted, as long as they fit the specific theme of the Festival and the Section to which they are presented.
  11. All persons, over 18 years of age, of any nationality, can participate, individually or collectively, by sending their audiovisual creations through the Festhome platform (festhome.com).
  12. It is also essential to include two frames of the work (300 ppp.).
  13. The works will be presented in the original version with subtitles in Spanish or English.
  14. You can submit an unlimited number of works by author, as long as each work is presented separately.
